There is no question that the dominant cultural ideology of the moment is that of’liberal progressivism’. But the problem with liberal progressivism is that is neither ‘liberal’ nor ‘progressive’. It is not really liberal because the only thing that liberalism tolerates is liberalism, which means that it is no more liberal than any other worldview. And it is not really progressive because it is causing untold damage to our society. With one or two exceptions, the fruit of ‘progressivism’ has been profoundly poisonous. The most glaring and grievous example of this is that of family/relationship breakdown which is now endemic and causing so much misery. Tolerance of family breakdown has not been in any sense ‘progressive’. It has in fact just increased loneliness, homelessness, poverty and poor mental health in children. May the Lord have mercy on our nation and turn the hearts of many to our Maker and his ‘instructions’. ‘Righteousness exalts a nation’ (Proverbs 14:34)
