I have to admit that I sometimes find the “sexualisation” of life in our culture really scary.

I wonder how it is affecting our ability to relate in healthy/innocent ways to members of the opposite sex (1 Timothy 5:2b).

I wonder how much it is preventing us from enjoying the good things of God’s creation in ways he intended – including sex! (Genesis 1:31)

I wonder how much taste we have left for the simple pleasures of life that our Creator has provided for our savouring as gifts of his kindness (Acts 14:17).

But above everything I wonder what damage is being done to the brains of our children as they grow up – when sexualised imagery is everywhere, sexually provocative behaviour/clothing is normal and even the most commonly used words have  “pornified” double meanings.

We reap what we sow (Galatians 6:5)

Having said all that, we need not despair.

Firstly, the common grace of God will continue to ensure that things never get as bad as they logically should and could.

Secondly, prayerful and careful parenting can make a difference, even though we cannot live our children’s lives for them.

I found this particular article helpful in a number of ways. I commend it to you.
